HOWARD C. BINK
Drummer and leader
The son of the original band leader, Howard C Bink wanted to honor his father's memory by continuing the band. He began playing drums with his father's band at the age of 16. Although he enjoys playing a variety of music styles, dance band music is still one of his favorites.
Trumpet/Flugelhorn, Announcer, & Singer
Terry has been with Tunesters of Central PA from early on. As Announcer and Lead Singer, he takes on quite a lot of responsibility. His wit behind the microphone is an integral part of the organization. Without his abundant talents at our forefront the Tunesters would not be the band we are.
Chad is truly an asset to the band. He is the second leg of the percussion section. His ready smile shows he enjoys what he does. Our audience, too, can tell why the band couldn’t be any happier having such an incredible bass player.
Harry (aka "Hen") has been a transitional member of the Tunesters having also played with the original band. His obvious knowledge of the music is displayed by his considerable music abilities.
Bob has been playing Tenor Saxophone with the Tunesters for some time. His firm command of the instrument has delighted audiences all around the area. His enthusiastic style brings an effervescence to every performance.
Tina is truly a shining star. As the only female in the band she is a bright spot in the group that is much appreciated by all. As the third leg of the percussion section, the Tunesters are thrilled to have such a skilled musician as Tina perform with them.
A band wouldn't be complete without its Guitarist, and the Tunesters of Central PA couldn’t have asked for a better one than John. Although he is the most recent addition to the band, he has joined this group as if he were meant to be here. John's addition has been welcomed, and he has played an integral role in the overall success of the band.
ABOUT THE TUNESTERS OF CENTRAL PA
This Band has a long history. The original group was formed by Howard H Bink, father of the current leader, in the late 1940s. The Tunesters band was born out of his love for the music of the era. Following the end of World War II, the Tunesters were heard throughout the area by many in the social organizations of the time--VFWs, American Legions, the Moose, and others. When the original Tunesters were no longer able to carry on, Howard C. and his friends picked up the banner and continued the legacy of his father. The current members of the Tunesters of Central PA have been performing and playing together for the pleasure of those who continue to enjoy the music of the dance band era. They have brought back memories for many and won over the hearts of music lovers from all walks of life. The band has been performing at a variety of venues, making public appearances as well as entertaining at private parties. All the while the Tunesters are playing many of Howard H. Bink's original arrangements, they are reviving and reintroducing the music enjoyed by those of previous generations.
